The Winter 2014 art season is beginning. Perhaps it will bring more interesting work that what was shown during the Fall 2013 season, where the sense of desperation among so many galleries was almost palpable. (How many shows of wan abstraction can you see before you begin to wonder what purpose this kind of art now serves?)
